Note To Self

A couple weeks ago Ben Rector released his new album Brand New. I was hesitate at first to listen to his new album since his last album The Walking In Between was pure perfection. But finally about a week ago I decided it was time to finally listen to Brand New. I could seriously go on and on about how amazing his new album is and how much I love it. I wouldn't say it is better than his last album or just as good but it sure does come close. I seriously can't pick one song off his album that is my favorite, so here are my top songs off his album: Brand New,Crazy,Fear, 30,000 Feet, Favorite Song, Paris, Almost Home, More Like Love, and Note To Self. I also love Make Something Beautiful and The Men That Drive Me Places. So basically every single song off his album is my favorite. I highly recommend buying this album or at least check some of his music out, you seriously won't regret it.

Anyways, the reason I am writing this blog post is because one of his songs off his new album called, "Note To Self" made me think about certain things in my life. The song talks about reminders and things we should be doing in life. I decided to create a list like he talks about in his song. So here is my list and I encourage you to make one as well.

Note To Self:

  • Keep choosing Joy
  • Pray more and worry less
  • Be more outgoing
  • Listen more and talk less
  • Be kind
  •  Laugh more
  • Say thank you more and mean it
  • Don't take your parents for granted
  • Not everything has to be perfect
  • Don't stress over small things
  • Think positive thoughts
  • Find beauty in everything
  • Forgive yourself and others
  • Remember everyone is fighting a hard battle
  • Be more flexible (or at least try)
  • Be more in the moment

I am going to probably keep adding more to this list and looking back at it as a reminder. But I also think making a list like this just shows how imperfect and flawed we all are.

OOTD: Taylor Swift Concert

I thought I would post an outfit of the day from October 27th when I saw Taylor Swift in concert. I spent a lot of time making this outfit to try and get picked to meet Taylor for her loft 89. If you have no idea what loft 89 is, well Taylor's mom and team during the show pick 30-40 fans dressed up in creative outfits and that are dancing like crazy and having a good time. After the show they get to go backstage and meet Taylor. Sadly at my concert they did not do loft 89 so that was super disappointing since I spent so much time making my outfit. Either way though I had so much fun at the concert and thought I would share some photos I took of my outfit. This outfit was inspired by her songs wildest dreams, style, and out of the woods. I also wanted to give a huge thanks to my mom for being so amazing and helping me with my outfit. I am a perfectionist and I can be hard to deal with at times when creating things.

Got a long list of Starbucks lovers

When I think of Taylor Swift's song Blank Space, I automatically think of the part in her song where it goes, "got a long list of ex lovers." I remember my sister texting me asking if it said Starbucks Lovers. I thought she was crazy but even when my dad listened to it the first time he thought the exact same thing. I was not quite sure what she was saying so I looked up the lyrics. A bunch of posts about it and jokes later here I am posing in a Starbucks Dress made by the wonderful Kristen from Garbage Gone Glam. You have to check her website out. Her dresses are fabulous!! GarbageGoneGlam.com and her instagram is @GarbageGoneGlam.

I wanted to make this post to celebrate the fact that I am seeing her live on October 27th in Miami and I could not be any more ecstatic. Also since the concert falls on the one year anniversary of her 1989 album release. I thought why not do a photo shoot to celebrate it? Taylor went in a complete different direction with 1989 album and I respect her so much for that. She took a leap of faith going into a new genre and with her team uncertain she was certain. But here I am telling you how  much I love love love Taylor Swift and I seriously think she is the best. Have you seen the stuff she does for her fans? If you haven't let me just tell you some things she has done for her fans. She has invited tons of fans to all of her houses to dance, eat cookies (that she made herself), and she actually listens to them sharing their personal life stories. Also she has gone to a fans bridal shower, invited a fan over to her house on Valentines Day, sent huge packages for fans for Christmas, commented on endless fans instagram accounts and tumblr posts. The best part is the comments are not just a "thank you so much." Her responses are long and endearing and she is seriously so loving and wanting to give back to her fans and the world and this is some of the reasons why I love her so much. Anyways, I could go on for a long time about why I love her so much but I won't if you want me to sit you down in person and tell you why I love her so much I will be glad to do so.
